Living on Purpose with a Purpose
Just making an honest attempt to live everyday on purpose and with purpose can be a challenge. However, I personally believe the average person begins each day with an honest attempt to do what’s right by our family, friends, co-workers and those within our community. Our brother, Peter so eloquently writes, “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you.” (I Peter 4:12) I’m confident many of us have battle scars and wounds as a result of trials and tribulations that we endured in 2013. As we embark upon a New Year and before writing new resolutions, I encourage each of you to stop and reflect on things that went well and those areas that caused much heartache.
Invest personal time to sit quietly in your own prayer closet or private space to meditate on your past in an attempt to avoid repeating those bad episodes that we have the power to control. Because you were born with a purpose and God has a plan for your life, rest assured your trials and tribulations were designed to make you strong and stable in God. The Scriptures teaches, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (I Corinthians 10:13). You can do it!
